Every year, men from across the community step forward to compete for the title of Mr. Fire Island Bear — not just for the crown, but to celebrate confidence, body positivity, and the incredible diversity of our bear community.
Some contestants are performers. Some are shy guys stepping out of their comfort zone. Some just love Fire Island and want to represent it.
What they all share is personality, heart, and the courage to step on stage. If that sounds like you — we want you to apply.

Born in Jamaica and now a vibrant part of the NYC bear community, Dom Impala has become a familiar face on stages across the city as a gogo dancer, performer, and event host. Since moving to New York from Florida in 2017, Dom has brought his charisma, energy, and unmistakable presence to the scene—culminating in his win as Mr. Fire Island Bear 2025.
